Kosovo Meets Bulgaria: Study and Cultural Visits During the First Mobility Program in Bulgaria

In April, 15 students from Universum High School and Finish School of Kosovo participated in the first mobility flow in Sofia, Bulgaria.

From March 31st to April 13th, 2025, the students explored tourism, hospitality and culture in Sofia and Plovdiv. The two-week mobility included study visits to various hospitality and tourism-related businesses such as hotels, restaurants, and companies. These visits allowed students to observe how Bulgarian enterprises operate and gain valuable insights into local business practices.

The students also had the chance to experience a more creative side of the local economy. They visited a local an innovative space dedicated to supporting and promoting emerging artists., “Culture Lab”, which provided a different perspective on enterpreneuship, art, and community engagement and how they intersect.

In addition to business visits, students had 2 visits to a local private VET school. They interacted with Bulgarian students, who presented projects they are working on, explored similarities and differences in their vocational training, and exchanged experiences. A school supervisor from Universum High School of Kosovo had the chance to exchange contacts with representatives of the local VET school for potential future collaboration between the institutions.

Students loved exploring Sofia! Cultural exploration was an important part of the mobility experience – students had the chance to discover the city through a sightseeing tour, including a guided tour of the Ethnographic Museum, located in the former royal palace. They also enjoyed day trip to Plovdiv, where they explored the city’s rich cultural history.
